The Secrets of Vitamins: Insights on Vitamin Selection and Application
Dr. Zhang Lei, Head of Animal Nutrition Research at NHU

Factors to Consider in Vitamin Selection and Application
Vitamin products face distinct challenges in distribution, storage, and use due to their specific properties. It is crucial to systematically tackle issues related to their consistent distribution in feed, stability during processing and storage, and biological efficiency in animals. Dr. Zhang Lei presented NHU's research on choosing commercial vitamin forms, the key factors impacting vitamins in premixes and feed processing, and important precautions to keep in mind.

Micronutrient Challenges: Innovative Solutions from NHU

Dr. Gong Yangyang, Head of Aquatic Animal Nutrition Research at NHU

Challenges and Choices for Micronutrients in a Multi-Formulation System
Micronutrients like copper, zinc, and manganese are crucial for animal nutrition. With the increased use of unconventional feed ingredients in formulations, the levels of anti-nutritional factors such as phytic acid and tannins have risen, intensifying challenges for micronutrient products, particularly inorganic ones. Dr. Gong shared insights on the evolving anti-nutritional factors in feed ingredients and the selection of micronutrient products in this complex formulation landscape.

Breakthroughs in Rumen Protected Methionine: Supporting Dairy Farming
Dr. Hou Yu, Head of Ruminant Nutrition Research at NHU

Development and Application of NHU’s Rumen Protected Methionine Products
Addressing the current challenges in dairy farming, Dr. Hou Yu discussed strategies to enhance the feed conversion rate of dairy cows and lower feed costs per kilogram of milk through genetic, physiological, management, environmental, and nutritional adjustments. He emphasized that achieving a balanced amino acid profile can improve nitrogen utilization in ruminants, decrease nitrogen emissions from pastures, and lower the carbon footprint of ruminant production.

Unlocking Animal Dietary Nutrition: The Key to Enhancing Beef and Lamb Quality
Prof. Diao Qiyu, Expert from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences

Impact of Nutritional Composition in Animal Diet on Growth Performance and Meat Quality
Professor Diao Qiyu, a renowned ruminant nutrition expert, explored strategies to enhance the quality of beef and lamb through dietary regulation. He provided an in-depth overview of the beef and lamb industries, highlighting the significant effects of nutrition on meat quality and growth performance. Professor Diao emphasized that adjusting nutritional composition can improve meat attributes such as flavor, texture, and fat content. He noted that effective diet formulation not only enhances meat quality but also boosts farming efficiency and promotes the sustainable development of the beef and lamb sectors.
